Overview

Mood Mouse is a browser extension that helps you track your mood and understand how websites affect your emotional state. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data.

What Data Does the Extension Collect?

Mood Mouse collects and stores the following information locally on your device:

Mood Tracking Data

• Your mood check-in responses (emoji selections, notes, energy levels)
• Timestamps of when you recorded each mood
• The website URLs within a 30 minute window of when you were recording the mood
• The time your browser was actively used

Browsing Activity (Optional - PRO Feature)

• Scrolling behavior
• Video watching activity (amount of videos watched)
• Page interactions (clicks and keypresses)

Settings Data

• Your extension preferences (check-in interval, theme, widget size)
• Custom questions (PRO feature)
• Time-based question schedules (PRO feature)

How We Store Your Data

   **All your data is stored locally on your device** using Chrome's built-in storage system. Your data is synchronized across your devices if you're signed into Chrome with sync enabled. However none of this data is stored by us on third-party servers. This is a Chrome feature and thus subject to Chrome and Alphabet Inc.'s data policies.

We do not have access to your data. We do not collect, store, or transmit your mood tracking information to any external servers.

Third-Party Services

License Verification (PRO Users Only)

   When you activate a PRO license, we verify your license key through Payhip.com's API. This involves:

• Sending your license key to Payhip for validation
• Receiving your buyer email address to confirm the purchase
• This is a one-time verification process and not repeated.

We do not store or have access to any payment information. All payment processing is handled securely by Payhip. We do not correlate your purchased PRO license with any mood data as it is stored locally.

Data You Control

You have complete control over your data:

• View Your Data: All data is accessible through the extension's analytics and history pages.
• Export Your Data: PRO users can export all mood data in JSON or CSV format
• Delete Your Data: You can permanently delete all your mood tracking data from the Settings page under "Danger Zone". This is available to Free and PRO users.

Permissions Explained

Mood Mouse requests the following permissions in Google Chrome:

• Storage: To save your mood entries and preferences locally
• Alarms: To schedule periodic mood check-in reminders
• Tabs: To display the mood widget on the current webpage
• Active Tab: To determine which website you're visiting when recording a mood
• Scripting: To inject the mood tracking widget into webpages
• Web Navigation: To track which websites you visit (stored locally

   only)

• Notifications: To send mood check-in reminders
• Idle: To detect when you're actively using the browser vs. idle

Data Security

Your data is protected by Chrome's built-in security features:

• All data is stored using Chrome's encrypted storage APIs
• Data is only accessible by the Mood Mouse extension
• No data is transmitted over the internet except for license verification if the PRO license is purchased.

Changes to Your Data

You can modify or delete all mood entries through the History tab.

Children's Privacy

Mood Mouse is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from any customers, including children under 13. The only data that is collected by us is if a purchase of the PRO license is made via our payment gateway provider Payhip.com

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. As we collect no user data, we are not able to notify users in other ways.
